What are the procedures to follow for unaccompanied minors?

Request the service before departure or at the time of booking from our sales offices or at the airport counter.

Payment for the service for unaccompanied minors can be made at our sales office or at the airport counter.

Please note that the airline cannot guarantee the provision of special services if the required conditions are not met.

For everyone’s peace of mind, the family member or guardian should not leave the airport before the flight’s departure.

Travel Restrictions for Unaccompanied Minors

Children under 5 years old

They are not permitted to travel alone. They must be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent, legal guardian, or designated escort) who is at least 18 years old.

Children between 5 and 13 years old

They are considered unaccompanied minors. They can travel alone only if the unaccompanied minor escort service is purchased. They can also travel with an escort aged 14 or older, in which case the service is not required.

Children aged 14 and over: They are permitted to travel alone on direct flights. The escort service is optional for passengers in this age group.

These conditions may vary depending on the destination and the entry/exit requirements established by the immigration authorities of each country. It is recommended to check with the airline beforehand and inquire about the regulations in force in the country of origin and destination. In the event of an operational disruption affecting the itinerary, the parents or legal guardians will be contacted to authorize any necessary changes. Xpedia Jet accepts no responsibility for minors traveling on connecting flights operated by another airline. Connections are only permitted for minors aged 10 and over.

Requirements and Guidelines for Unaccompanied Minors

Required Documents:

All unaccompanied minors must have all the documents required by the laws of both their city of origin and their city of destination. It is recommended to check with the relevant authorities to ensure these requirements are met.

Pets and Medical Conditions:

Unaccompanied minors may not travel with pets. If a minor has a medical condition or is undergoing medical treatment, they will not be allowed to travel without being accompanied by a responsible adult, unless they present a medical document authorizing their travel

Carry-on Baggage:

Unaccompanied minors must not carry any carry-on baggage they cannot keep with them. Xpedia Jet is not responsible for the contents of the minor’s carry-on baggage or any valuables they are carrying. Furthermore, excess baggage and additional checked items are not permitted.

Arrival Pick-up: When the child arrives at the destination, the person picking them up must present identification documents confirming they are the person indicated on the attached form

Name and relationship of the person who will bring the child to the airport.

Home phone number and address of this person.

Name and relationship of the person who will receive the child.

Home and work phone number of this person.

ID number or photo ID of the adult who will bring the child to the airport and of the adult who will receive the child.

Complete the “Unaccompanied Minor” form and bring a printed copy.
